Doreen Mulryan

All Doreen ever wanted to do was draw and ice skate! For school, she attended Carnegie Mellon University as a fine arts major, then moved on to New York's School of Visual Arts, where she received her degree in illustration and cartooning. In between, she sold ice cream at Disney World and ran errands for MTV. After graduation, she worked at Marvel Comics as a production assistant in the Mighty Marvel Bullpen. After a few years working alongside super heroes, she went on to do product design at Russ Berrie. Now, when she is not out on the rink with her roller derby team NJRD as Smiley Cyrus, or just plain Smiley, Doreen teaches art on the website bluprint.com, bartends, paints and illustrates children's books. She lives in NJ with her boyfriend, 10 year old daughter and two pups: her puggle Baxter Blue Cheese and rescue pup Rey! Some of the books she has illustrated include Lucky Ducky (which she also wrote), Even Monsters Say Goodnight (wrote this one too), Frankly Frannie and Pinkabella. She illustrated the graphic novel Trayaurus and The Enchanted Crystal written by Youtube's Dan TDM, which has been on the New York Time's Best Seller List for multiple weeks.
